Kelly Fairbairn began her career as an Instructional Designer piloting projects, evaluating programs and conducting training sessions as part of internal universities. Additionally, she managed teams of technical and professional development faculty and instructional designers creating total learning solutions for leadership, professional development, and technical skills.
To-date, Kelly has designed over sixty full-scale leadership and professional development training programs as part of curriculums for companies such as GE Capital, GE Crotonville, Stanley Works, Stew Leonard Stores, The Hartford, Carquest, Victoria’s Secret Stores, New York State Electric & Gas, Johnson & Johnson, Sandoz, and Colonial Life & Accident, to name a few.
Four of the programs Kelly designed are part of the General Parts, Inc. corporate university, which was named Corporate University Best in Class (CUBIC) Award in 2003. Yet another program is conducted as part of Stew Leonard Stores’ university; it has been included as part of Stew Leonard Store’s success in achieving four consecutive years of ranking on Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” List. In 2002, GE conducted nearly 260 individual leadership training programs as part of their corporate curriculum; after a rationalization program, they offered 15—Kelly’s designs were two of the fifteen.
Kelly has also designed dozens of performance management processes including recruiting plans, leadership development curricula, performance planning systems, appraisal/review systems, and new employee orientation for companies such as GE Plastics, BMW, BOC Gases, SEGRETS, The Seibels Bruce Group, GE Financial Services, Cartier, and Playtex.
Kelly has a Bachelor’s degree in public communication from Cornell University and a Master’s degree in employee counseling and relations from Binghamton University. In all her roles, she has been focused on improving the performance of individuals, and in turn, companies. This unique combination of corporate HR and consulting experience makes it possible for Kelly to analyze, design, develop, deliver, and evaluate unique performance solutions, whether they are professional development programs or assessments or corporate curricula.
